Philosophy
GDHS is a Hockey
Institution providing its students with a disciplined setting, but a
fun environment that is conducive to their learning to play the game
of hockey properly. This is a teaching school that provides
students with proper skill instruction, as well as game expertise
while allowing students the opportunity to compete and have fun.
The School, now in its 37th
successful year, is run by professional coach Lincoln Flagg.
Lincoln has been with the hockey school since its inception in
1972. Lincoln played hockey for Gary Dineen before going on to play
college hockey at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and then
onto minor professional hockey. Lincoln has coached at the
collegiate level before returning to coach in Gary Dineen’s Jr.
Coyotes Program. For seven seasons Lincoln served as GM/Coach of
the Junior ‘A’ Falcons. Lincoln has helped to place over 400
student-athletes to colleges and universities with over 7Million
dollars in Scholarshp.
GDHS Staff will include professional educators, coaches, and players
who have cumulatively spent hundreds of years in the “Dineen
System”. Directors and instructors; Tom O’ Connor (Pittsburgh
Penguins), Ron Hainsey (Atlanta Thrashers), Rob Bellamy
(Philadelphia Pantoms), Jeff Mason (Gwinett), Keith Johnson
(Portland), Barry Almeida (Boston College), Gerry Dineen (Tabor
Academy), Bruce Marshall (UCONN), Len Quesnelle (UMASS) and others
make this staff one of the most knowledgeable and gifted in this
region.
Parents are
hereby notified that upon request you may receive school policies
regarding background checks, healthcare and disciplinary
procedures. The school will comply with the regulations of the
Department of Health.
