Equipment & Enrollment

Full Equipment is mandatory before any student can take to the ice, including H.E.C.C. certified helmet, face mask, mouth guard and throat protector as mandated by USA Hockey.

School enrollment is on a first come basis. In the event classes are filled you will be notified by phone. Your class assignment letter will be sent to you no later than June 15, 2008.

All students enrolled at the Gary Dineen Hockey School will need to submit a health form signed by a physician at least two weeks prior to their class. Health forms will be sent out with your acceptance letter of you can use your own form.

“NEW” ADULT HOCKEY TRAINING CLASS
COME LEARN FROM NHL PRO’S
June 25 – June 28 6:00pm – 9:00pm
Saturday Class 10:00am – 12:00noon
This Class will run Wednesday through Saturday and is for  Adults, Men and Women, from ages 25 and up. It will feature Guest Instructors from the NHL and AHL. There will  be two hours of ice per night with a one hour class room session. The focus will be on game play, team drills and  practices, and some skill work. On Saturday there will be a 2 hour game with ref’s and ice between periods. A barbeque will take place immediately after the Saturday game with our instructors. Should be a fun time for all who attend.
COST: $300.00

“New” Mite Class
June 25 – June 28 8:00am – 10:00am
This class will run Wednesday through Saturday and will focus
on Skill development in a fun atmosphere. Skating, puck control
and games will be on the agenda each day. There will be a 10
minute break between hours while they resurface the ice for
players to rest. This will be a fun learning environment that will
allow these young players to get a strong foundation of skills in
order to properly play the game as they get older.
COST: $225.00

40 Hour Elite Program
July 7 – July 18
This Two-Week Program is what separates the good players from the great players and allows our students an opportunity to find out how good they can become. It is a part of the success program that Gary Dineen developed and has helped 9 of our former students make it to the NHL and many more get to the collegiate and minor pro levels. This two –week intensive training program is only for the serious athlete that understands playing in summer tourneys is not going to help develop your skill base or game understanding and will not get you to the next level.
High intensity drills focuses on upper level skill development, increased speed levels and controlled scrimmages that promote puck possession, creativity and puck movement. Three hours of ice per day split up with a one hour class room session involving chalk talks and video work, make this class one of the most sought after. Goaltenders have their own instructor and will work each day on goaltender skills, muscle memory and game situations. Goalies will have a 4-1 student to teacher ratio to insure personal instruction. Enrollment is on a limited basis.

Pee Wee Division (1997 & 1996 Birth yrs) 10:00am – 2:00pm
Bantam Division (1995 & 1994 Birth yrs) 2:00pm – 6:00pm

One-Week Advanced Program
July 21 – July 25

Ages 6-9yrs 8:00am – 11:00am
Ages 10-14yrs 10:00am – 1:00pm
This One-week program will focus on small games, high speed skill work, full ice scrimmages, and power skating with a hockey application. Each day will consist of 2 hours of on-ice instruction and one hour of classroom for chalk talks and video work. Players will be grouped by age, size, and ability levels to insure proper development. The last day of the class will be “Super Friday” where we will hold a full ice game with officials. Goalies have a 4-1 Student to Teacher Ratio. Goalies will work each day with their instructor on goalie skills, puck control, muscle memory and Game situations during scrimmages.
COST: $270.00

One-Week All Girls Class
July 21 – July 25

Ages 9 – 18yrs 1:00pm – 4:00pm
Our All-Girls Class was moved into July this summer so as not to interfere with High School sports Summer Training.
This class will focus on skill improvement, power Skating, and Game Situations during small games and scrimmages. Each day will consist of 2 hours of on-ice instruction and one hour of class room. Players will be grouped by age, size, and ability levels to insure proper development. Goalies will have a 4-1 Student to Teacher ratio and will work each day with their Goalie instructor. The Last day will be “Super Friday” and we will have a full ice game with Officials. A serious, but fun environment, that will allow these young ladies to improve their games.
COST: $270.00

Specialty Classes

“Defenseman’s” Class Session
July 28 – August 1 One-Week Class
Ages 8-10yrs 8:00am-11:00am
Ages 11-14yrs 10:00am-1:00pm
This popular class is sold out each summer. This one-week class is for defensemen and will focus on defensive responsibilities, defensive play in all three zones, backward skating and lateral movement, pivots, body checking, gapping, shooting, how to defend the odd man rush, and defensive tactics. Players will be grouped by age, size, and ability levels, to insure proper development. Each day will consist of two hours of on-ice instruction and one hour of classroom discussion. This is a must class for any defenseman.
COST: $300 ($225.00 if combined with our Elite Class)

“NEW” SKILLS & POWER SKATING CLASS
August 4 – August 8 One-Week Class
Ages 6 – 9yrs 8:00am – 10:00am
Ages 10 – 14yrs 10:00am – 12:00Noon
This New One-Week Class will focus each day on Power Skating with a hockey application and proper skill improvement work. Each day will consist of two hours of on ice instruction with Power skating first then skill work after that reemphasizing power skating technique with a puck while working on proper skill technique. Students will work each day on a different hockey skill set.
COST: $250.00

“Forward’s “ Class Session
August 11 – August 15 One-Week Class
Ages 8 – 10yrs 8:00am – 11:00am
Ages 11 – 14yrs 10:00am – 1:00pm
This Class is for Forwards and is position specific. The purpose of this class is to teach forwards a better understanding of their position while enhancing deking skills, scoring skills, in-tight puck skills, cycling, attack triangles, checking, forechecking, face-offs, defensive responsibilities, and play away from the puck. Each day will consist of two hours of on-ice instruction and one hour of classroom discussion. Students will be grouped by age, size, and ability levels to insure proper development.
COST:$300 ($225 if combined with our Elite Class)

MINI-MITE Class Session
August 18 – August 22 One–Week Class
Ages 4yrs to 9yrs 8:00am – 9:30am
This class was started last summer with great success. It will focus on a fun environment while teaching balance and puck skills through a series of games and competitions. Each day will consist of 1.5 hours of on-ice instruction and fun.
COST: $225.00

“NEW” READINESS CONDITIONING & TRAINING
August 18 – August 22 One-Week Class
Ages 8yrs – 11yrs 9:40am – 11:00am
Ages 12yrs – 15yrs 11:10am – 12:20pm
GDHS has brought back this one-week readiness training and skill refresher class, by demand. Each day will consist of 1.5 hours of on-ice drills for conditioning and skill enhancement. High tempo drills that keep students moving the entire time will build endurance while instructors correct bad habits and teach proper skill technique.
COST: $150.00

 

 



MASSACHUSETTS

Cost: $450.00
This is an all day class run by Division 1 & 3 College Hockey Coaches. This intensive one week training class has been sold out the past two years. This class is for those players that are serious about developing their potential to play college hockey. Enrollment is limited to 24 forwards, 16 defensemen, and 4 goalies per class. Each day will consist of 1.5 hours of off ice training with a certified strength & conditioning coach, 2 hours of on ice skill work and small games, 1.5 hours of classroom & video work, and 1.5 hours of team practice and scrimmage. The final day will be a full game with 3 – 20 minute periods with officials. A Tournament Team will be selected from this class to participate in the EJHL Summer Showcase Tourney in August. Enrollment for this class is on a first come basis and the approval of School Director.

This popular one-week program combines power skating, proper skill development, as well as scrimmages and small games. It is designed for those players that are looking to improve both their understanding of games situations and skill levels. Individual Classes are grouped by age, size, and ability levels to insure proper development. On the last day we will hold our “Super Friday” game with refs, to allow players to show their improvement. Goaltenders will have their own instructor and will work each day on goaltending skills, muscle memory, and situational reaction as well as game conditions. Goaltender instruction will be at a 4-1 student to teacher ratio.

Ages 13 – 17yrs High School-Midget-Elite

This popular One-Week program will focus on Power skating, skill development, scrimmages and small games to better understand play with and without the puck. The last day we will hold our “Super Friday” Game with ref’s to allow players to show their improvement. Each class will be grouped by age, size, and ability level to insure proper development. Goaltenders will have their own instructor and will work each day on goaltending skills, muscle memory, and game situations. Goaltenders will have a 4-1 student to teacher ratio. Program director Gerry Dineen (Tabor Academy) along with instructors Bruce Marshall (UConn), Mike Walsh (Proctor), Eric Long (Tabor) and others make this staff one of the best around.

This popular One-Week program sells out each summer. This program focuses on teaching the game of hockey through small games and scrimmages, teaching players how to play with and without the puck. Power skating and proper skill teaching is combined with team drills and game situations. Each class is grouped by age, size and ability levels to insure proper development for each individual. Goaltenders have their own instructor and work each day on goaltender skills, muscle memory, and game situations during scrimmages. Goaltenders will have a 4-1 student to teacher ratio to insure personal instruction.
